I’ll never forget the first time I told my school teacher I wanted to be an artist. I’m pretty sure I was eight years old.

I have since tried my hand at many creative careers - graphic designer, fashion designer, large scale company merchandiser - I even had my own little clothes shop there for a spell. But through it all, the only thing that stuck was my seemingly endless creative energy and need to shape, paint and make. But it wasn’t until later in my life that I finally mustered up the courage to have a real go. I created my first ever resin artwork for my partner Daniel when we first met. His family business is sailing documentarians and explorers down to the icy waters of Antarctica, and I was so incredibly inspired by the photographs he shared with me from his many journeys south that I wanted to recreate the cold, harshness of the environment. An artwork that still hangs in our home today.

Eventually, I was asked to share my skill set and hosted my first workshop. The joy that I felt when I taught that first class was unlike any feeling I had ever experienced before. This studio grounds you, gives you purpose, confidence and a sense of community, and there really isn’t anything quite like it.
